Reason #1: Bella Swan is possibly the worst fictional "friend" imaginable, and on the rare occassions she does goes out with her friends (when Edward is in a mood of chagrin), doesn't care about anyone's problems but her own.
Reason #2: Despite having the hottest guy in school for a boyfriend, a guy who would do literally anything for her, even die for her, she still finds reason to sulk and emotionally cheat on him with Jacob Black. "Oh but I love them both!"
Reason #3: You would think after a while, watching Edward's glittery skin sparkling in the sun would get kind of boring.
Reason #4: She named her child Renesme. It sounds like it could be the name of a dinosaur in "The Land Before Time."
Reason #5: How can a "plain" looking girl with the personality of a rock attract so many men?
Reason #6: She didn't appreciate Alice's awesome birthday party.
Reason #7: Charlie and Renee are disposable as long as Bella is with Edward.
Reason #8: I do not find the thought of icy cold lips to be erotic.
Reason #9: She apparently made out with her future son-in-law. Nessie will not be pleased.
Reason #10: Bedward is not a cool shipper name. But then, neither is Jella.

She's the new girl in a town of like 200 people. Of course all the guys are going to like her, she's fresh meat.
As for Edward, well, I guess he likes sad, moody, and boring girls who don't think they are worthy of their boyfriend.
Besides being ugly, boring, and complete trash, I think your pretty dead on with this hub. #4 and #9 made me laugh the most. Nothing like watching a bunch of lovable, high school ninnie vampires leaping around and hugging each other. You know cuz that's what vampires do....
I had to go watch the new Twilight movie.......ummm yeah it made me want to claw out my own eyeballs. And why do the vampires sparkle? I thought they burn or explode, or burn and then explode.......that would be much more fun me thinks
@notrorygilmore: Yeah, B.S. might have been "fresh meat", but wouldn't the novelty of her new-girl status have faded after a few months? Instead, every guy in Forks lusted after her until graduation. Weird, didn't Meyer describe Alice and Rosalie as being stunning, ethereal women...and none of the boys at school noticed them because they were too enamoured with Bella...riiiiiiiight.

Absolutely agree, bella is such an pathetic character that you want to slap her, i hope that young girls don't think she is a role model! But maybe moody, sulky, downcast and plain is the perfect match for a vampire!
Hi, MHilbert! I'm doing a hub on the Twilight saga myself, so I've been reading up on what others have to say. Well, my intention isn't to pick yours apart, but rather just a comment to each item ok! No, I agree, she lacks expression, but there's a few reasons I point out in my hub why Bella is the way she is. As you say in #1. I agree she's definitely caught up in herself. But it is pointed out at the beginning of Twilight that she's a loner. So that kind of explains that. And it's needed because later, she doesn't need that bff whose a snoop! Going from no friends to a whole clique is another thing lol. #2. Edward DID after all leave her, so that leaves her free to go befriend-or more, Jacob. As they were friends as children. As Jacob says later to Edward, he should have stayed gone 6 more months. Although it wouldn't of done any good because their attraction is quite unusual due to his not being able to read her mind, thus, is intrigued by this new human he can't understand, plus her "yummy" blood scent! lol. 3. As any young girl in love, they never find things about their new bf's boring! For instance I've loved a man 30 years and his (what others think plain) blue eyes, pull me into him and there's no way I can stop loving him or finding love in his eyes for me! (hope not anyway lol) #4. I'm making a separate hub for Breaking Dawn because with child, it's got to have an unusual name, not to mention, (but to mention) they would have no reason to know Jacob would fall for the child as it grew up-BUT read on, as Alice should KNOW... But WHY would they let that happen considering Edward can read his thoughts, he'd know Jacob was getting feelings for their child (kinda sick imo)lol. #5.Yeah, all the guys in school either shun a new & quiet girl or fall for her because, like said "new meat." They know nothing about her, thus, don't know she's not interesting, but yeah, most school kids don't pull in the new kid into the coolest cliques, as one they sure didn't with me LOL. (OUTCAST HERE LOL) #6. I too was a bit taken of her lack of Alice reaching out to her with her party, and she didn't have to be such a wet blanket! Who wouldn't be happy the "cool" family has accepted her so openly! And I've had a paper cut I don't recall one ever dripping, then being thrashed onto the wall by an over protective bf!!? #7. Everyone gives up parents for their boy/girlfriend, that's what life is about, but remember they have "that special bond" that goes beyond regular relationships where families are drawn together not separated! #8.Considering friendless and not liking anything cold/wet, he later says everything about him will draw her in. Kind of like if you like a boy, then he grows out his hair or cuts it, he's STILL the boy you like! After all, we like them for who they are. Apparently Edward is so attracted to her scent, it overpowers him noticing her lack of personality! Now #9. as I mentioned, I could call a blooper, as Alice should have seen that coming and 10, LOL Well said! But I hope when my hub is finished you'll come and jump in on the conversation, as I think, ok know,cos my grandfather's name was Edward, and he is old, the name fits his era of being 117 years old, and Bella.. just is another "trend" name,(Like Jacob-Old name, new trend) plus, I have another theory of the name, come see when my hub is finished! I'll bookmark you and let you know ok!

(I'm from Detroit, crime capitol-also known as crimeCRAPitol, and have a tshirt with a man holding a gun to a dogs head that says "say nice things about Detroit)-Funny if you've lived there! Strange if you've never even visited as they really have them in shops, that and "I visited Detroit and live to tell" "DETROIT: Where the weak are killed and eaten" Hey maybe they are from Detroit LOL!
Wow, and I thought I hated Bella from the Twilight series with a passion. Personally, I couldn't agree with you more about how utterly selfish she is. Hell, just the horse sh!t line she tells Jacob in the "New Moon" movie says it all, where she says something along the lines of how she'll always love Edward more than Jacob to Jacob's face, but she doesn't ever want him to stop trying to pursue her anyway. Which to me translates to, "I only see you as a friend, but if things don't go well with Edward, I want you to wait around for a while to be my back up boyfriend." Gee, talk about selfish! lol.
I don't know about you, but i hate all the characters from Twilight; especially Bella. Granted, I never read the books, but I am forced to watch the films since I review movies on here, and I have to say they all suck. Edward to me, he seems like an over protective, egotistical, controlling, short tempered, emotionally distant jerk! As for Jacob, he's just a damn whiny short tempered moron. Seriously, if he hasn't figured out by now that Bella will never ditch Edward for him after two or three movies, then he's a damn idiot. Seriously, he makes all the guys out there in the world look bad and desperate. In fact, I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to write a brief message to Jacob on your hub:
Jacob, on behalf of all straight guys everywhere....MAN IT UP! Seriously, hasn't anyone told you that girls hate it when a guy acts too desperate for them? Plus, why do you want Bella? she's a manipulative and selfish b**ch! Dude, at the risk of sounding gay, your a good looking guy, so you can have any woman out there. Screw Bella! Seriously, this whole whiny emotional crap is only making all us guys look bad. Seriously...MAN IT UP!

loved it and can still think about many other reasons why she is so annoying like being soooooo dependent on Edward (she cannot eat if he is not there, she cannot sleep, not even breathe for godsake!!!) On top of that, she must be the most selfish, clumsy and fashion sense-less heroine ever.
Does anyone out there actually remember being seventeen? There is no rational sense about it whatsoever. "But I Love him" seems to be enough at that moment. I really liked Bella until the third movie, although I loved reading the books and living in a fairy tale for a while, you know, like Snow White, the damsel in distress and love triangle etc.. I've known people like her who would get on the back of a stranger's motorcycle and leave you standing in the smoke, so Reason #1 sounds good to me.
I agree with you completely. I am sick of "Twilight" in general. The thing I hate worse than Bella, are those fan girls who ask "Do you like Edward or Jacob?"
First of all, they are fictional characters that I do not give a fat rats ass about. It's not like they are running for president, or some political office.
Second of all, I'm pretty sure those who are for team Jacob haven't read the books, because I'm pretty sure Bella ends up with the 6' disco ball.
And Finally, Bella needs to settle down with a nice Zombie, some one who will love her for her brains, only to find that she doesn't have any and then dump her ass the same way that Edward and Jacob had.
